The Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination has been moved nearer to the end of October in response to parents and students’ unhappiness over the previous dates.
The dates announced last month split the examination into two – with subjective papers held from Oct 13 to 15, and the objective papers on Nov 4 and 5. The examination was previously held in early October.
The Penilaian Menengah Rendah examination will now be held from Oct 13 to 17 this year.
Education director-general Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom said the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate (MES) had taken into consideration the complaints over the split in dates. The MES set the new dates this year after getting feedback from various quarters who wanted examinations to be held nearer the end of the year to prevent truancy among students, he said.
