Anwar To Be Charged For Sodomy

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 | Politik with 1 Comment

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be charged for sodomy when he turns up at the Jalan Duta sessions courts tomorrow after police took a civil approach today and served him with a subpoena to appear in court. In a similar sequence of events 10 years ago, balaclava-clad elite policemen arrested him and detained him under the Internal Security Act before preferring charges.

Jalan Duta CourtsHis court appearance will come a day after the Election Commission decided that the Permatang Pauh by-election will be held on Aug 26 which Anwar said he will contest.

A police team led by DSP Jude Pereira served the subpoena just a little after noon today when they turned up at his Bukit Segambut house, which is incidentally near the Jalan Duta courts.

Anwar is scheduled to hold a press conference later at 3pm and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) officials said it could be related to a sodomy charge. He is currently speaking to his lawyers, according to lawyer Sankara Nair. Read the rest of this entry »

Pusrawi Hospital Saiful Medical Report

Monday, July 28th, 2008 | Politik with 6 Comments

Raja Petra in his blog Malaysia Today has published an article about a doctor’s report from Hospital Pusrawi that has conducted an examination on Saiful. The report said that there is no evidence Saiful has been sodomised.

Below is the article Doctor on the run: police want him to fabricate evidence against Anwar written by Raja Petra and a copy of Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid from the Hospital Pusrawi medical report on Saiful Bukhari.

On 21 July 2008, I published an article in this same column called HOW, YET AGAIN, THEY ARE TRYING TO FABRICATE EVIDENCE AGAINST ANWAR.

In that article I mentioned as follows:

You see, they asked a certain doctor from a certain hospital to conduct an examination on Saiful. The doctor did so and he came out with a report that said there is no evidence Anwar had ever penetrated or sodomised the young man. The police then picked up the doctor and detained him for three days. As much as they tried to force him to change his report to implicate Anwar he refused to do so.

Why Need Anwar Ibrahim DNA?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 | Politik with 2 Comments

Comments on news report Existing DNA sample too old, says PM published by MalaysiaKini 18 July 2008.

Koh CL said : DNA from an individual can be easily extracted from a biological sample (eg, cheek cells will do, rather than blood) of the individual.

DNA typing is then carried out with the DNA sample to create the individual-specific DNA type (or erroneously termed DNA profile or DNA fingerprint) of the individual.

The DNA type of a person will not change with age.

The Chemistry Department in PJ must already have a record of Anwar Ibrahim’s DNA type in its DNA database. So why are our PM and his cabinet members playing incompetent DNA scientists?

DR PR said: Why must Syed Hamid Albar and the PM coax Anwar Ibrahim to give a blood specimen? What interest do they have in this episode if it is not political? The survival or demise of BN depends on the outcome of this case.

Anwar Ibrahim Freed On Bail

Thursday, July 17th, 2008 | Politik with 2 Comments

Police freed Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim on bail Thursday after holding him overnight in connection with a sodomy accusation that abruptly suspended his campaign to unseat the government.

In a cell phone text message to reporters, Anwar’s lawyer Sankara Nair said his client, who was held overnight at the police headquarters, was “granted police bail.”

Police arrested Anwar on Wednesday for questioning over allegations that he sodomized a 23-year-old male aide, the second time in a decade that such an accusation has threatened his political career.

Sivarasa Rasiah, an opposition lawmaker, said Anwar left police headquarters from the back entrance in a car with his wife while reporters were waiting in the front. Sivarasa said Anwar was told to report to police on Aug. 18.

Anwar Ibrahim Arrested

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 | Politik with No Comments »

Police arrested Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday 16 July 2008, less than an hour before a deadline for him to appear at police headquarters to answer allegations that he sodomized a male aide.

About a dozen policemen, some of them wearing balaclavas, cordoned off the road leading to Anwar’s house and stopped his car, said his lawyer Sankara Nair. The policemen informed Anwar that they had orders to arrest him, said his lawyer Sankara Nair.

“They arrested him. No reason was given,” said Nair. He said Anwar was bundled into a police car and taken to the police headquarters. No one else from Anwar’s entourage was allowed to get into the car with him, he said. There was no trouble or violence.

Private Investigator P.Balasubramaniam Missing

Saturday, July 5th, 2008 | Politik with 1 Comment

Malaysian police said Sunday they had asked Interpol to help find a private investigator who has been reported missing since making explosive claims linking the deputy premier to a murder.

The case is linked to a political brawl between opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak, which could decide who is the next leader of Malaysia.

At a press conference Thursday organised by Anwar, private investigator Balasubramaniam Perumal released a sworn statement accusing Najib of having an affair with 28-year-old Altantuya Shaariibuu, who was murdered in 2006 and her body blown up with explosives in a remote forest.
