Pusrawi Hospital Saiful Medical Report

Monday, July 28th, 2008 | Politik with 6 Comments

Raja Petra in his blog Malaysia Today has published an article about a doctor’s report from Hospital Pusrawi that has conducted an examination on Saiful. The report said that there is no evidence Saiful has been sodomised.

Below is the article Doctor on the run: police want him to fabricate evidence against Anwar written by Raja Petra and a copy of Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid from the Hospital Pusrawi medical report on Saiful Bukhari.

On 21 July 2008, I published an article in this same column called HOW, YET AGAIN, THEY ARE TRYING TO FABRICATE EVIDENCE AGAINST ANWAR.

In that article I mentioned as follows:

You see, they asked a certain doctor from a certain hospital to conduct an examination on Saiful. The doctor did so and he came out with a report that said there is no evidence Anwar had ever penetrated or sodomised the young man. The police then picked up the doctor and detained him for three days. As much as they tried to force him to change his report to implicate Anwar he refused to do so.

Overweight And Obesity Among Malaysians

Monday, July 28th, 2008 | Health, News with No Comments »

The recent statement by the Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai that overweight and obesity among Malaysians needs urgent attention again illustrates public ignorance on the problem.

obese womanThe Minister pointed out that the prevalence of adult obesity in Malaysia from 1996-2006 had more than tripled with four out of every 10 Malaysians above 18 years of age are now being either overweight or obese.

Anyone who has a Body Mass Index (BMI) (weight divided by height squared) between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight and between 30.0-34.9 is considered obese.

Even more worrying is the fact that this group is at high risk of contracting serious disorders like diabetes, hypertension and high blood cholesterol.

Friday, July 25th, 2008 | Politik with No Comments »

Malaysia should drop its sodomy charges against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, said a joint statement by three former leading figures on the international stage.

ANWAR IBRAHIM

“We have heard with deep concern the charges filed against the honorable Datuk Seri Dr. Anwar Ibrahim,” said the statement by former Canadian prime minister Paul Martin, ex-World Bank chief James Wolfensohn, and Michel Camdessus, the former head of the International Monetary Fund.

They said the charges were brought “in spite of the fact that similar unsubstantiated charges filed 10 years ago against him were overturned by the Supreme Court.”

Inflation Hits 7.7%, Highest In 26 Years

Friday, July 25th, 2008 | News with No Comments »

Malaysia’s annual inflation rate spiraled to a 27-year high in June after a fuel price hike sent the cost of food and transport soaring, the government said.

Consumer prices in June rose 7.7 percent compared with the same month in 2007, more than double the 3.8 percent annual inflation rate recorded in May, according to data released late Wednesday by the Statistics Department.

Food and nonalcoholic beverages, which account for 31 percent of the price index, spiked 10 percent from a year ago. Transport expenditure surged 19.6 percent; alcoholic beverages and tobacco costs climbed 9.2 percent.

“The main reason for this increase is due to the substantial rise in the price of petrol and diesel announced by the government,” the statistics department said.
